SN65HVD230 LSB 2 bit error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD230

Hi

we are developing a ODB with TI tiva controller & 3.3V CAN transceiver (SN65HVD230) with 120ohms termination. we are facing an issue where we are not able to send complete data. we analysed the transceiver its not able to send the data when last 2 LSB bits are high but when last two bits are low then transceiver response is fine and complete data is transmitted. please suggest me the suitable solution to resolve this issue.

  • Hi Nandish,

The SN65HVD230 is simply a transceiver that translates CMOS/TTL signal to CAN signals and is in no way able to manipulate data. It only passes data from the driver to the bus and from the bus to the driver so I suspect that there is another issue in your system.

When transmitting a complete packet where the 2 LSBs are high can you confirm that you are actually receiving this at the D pin from the micro and out of the CANH and CANL pins? Is it possible that the data you think are transmitting is not really being transmitted? Can you provide me images of the D input and CAN output during this problem?
