Is there a way of Half duplex circuit?

【Additional information】

・Customer was using SN65LBC180A (Full duplex).

Suddenly, latest board must operate Half duplex.

・Customer request is 2-way following

①Half duplex RS485 that Pin compatible with SN65LBC180A.

  • Hello Satoshi-san,

There are many different options available for half-duplex transceivers. I would recommend first taking a look at the SN65LBC176A, which is very similar to the device currently being used. (It does not use the exact same pinout, but instead uses an 8-pin footprint that is more common for half-duplex devices.) It is also OK to operate any full-duplex device in a half-duplex application by tying the corresponding driver and receiver pins together (as you have mentioned). Please let me know if you have any further questions.
