Consulting for SN65HVD24 application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD24

Hi,

As below, for SN65HVD24 application, the current flow through Q2 and Q3,What's the maximum current that Q2 and Q3 will not be damaged?

Thanks!

  • Hi Jerry,

These transistors should not be damaged by overcurrents. The device has internal current limiting that prevents the output current from increasing beyond 250 mA. This amount of current results in heating of the device, but above a certain threshold (170 C) the output will be disabled (made high-impedance) in order to reduce power dissipation and protect from damage.
