TCAN1042HV issue

Hello

The specification only mark typ 45ns of rise/fall time. Attached are customer testing results.

CH3 CAN_H Rise=40.06ns, Fall=83.2ns.

CH4, CAN_L Rise=68ns, Fall= 42.9ns.

Are the testing results normal or not? Thank you.

BR

Patrick

  • Patrick,

The waveforms look reasonable to me, but you should make sure that you are measuring under the same conditions as the datasheet if you want to compare it its specs. The differential rise/fall times are measured on the differential signal (CANH - CANL), not on CANH and CANL individually. The loading between CANH and CANL during the test should 60 Ohms and 100 pF. Does this match the circuit that was used in your test?
