A and B are the differential I/Os, which are bidirectional, and not compatible with any logic voltage levels. They are supposed to be connected to the differential I/O pins of the other transceiver(s) on the bus.
The UART is supposed to be connected to D and R, which are unidirectional, logic-level signal.
