SN75113: how to connect the SN75113 device

Hi all,

I recently ordered a SN75113 device. But I have some issues to understand how to connect it.

My goal is to convert a TTL signal "signalA" to a differential signal "signalA+" and "signalA-". I tried connect everything like on the schematic attached but I have no output.

I am feeding "1A pin" with 5V and I am expecting +5V on the "1ZP pin" and -5V on the "1YS pin". But I have 0V on both outputs.

Can someone please help me to understand how to connect this device ?

    You need to pull CC high to activate the outputs. 1C, 2C, and CC are all enables for the outputs. So as you can see, CC is the the determining factor for both outputs. If you are only using 1YP/ 1YS and 1ZP/ 1ZS you only need to pull 1C and CC high.

    To be able to get a differential signal output you will need to short 1YP to 1YS therefore make one 1Y output and short 1ZP to 1ZS  making 1Z, to have the outputs configured in a push pull formation. 1Y and 1Z will now be your differential outputs. You will not see +- 5V on the outputs, but rather, VOH (3V-3.4V) and VOL  (0.23V). 

    After you have made these changes, you should see a high logic level (VOH) on 1Y and a low logic level (VOL) on 1Z for the current voltages you have now.

  • I really thank you Daniel. I was actually wrong on several points. I didn't get the use of the cc pin, and I was expecting a minus value on the "1Z" pin.

    I tried to wire with your advice and I had the correct output values.
