AM26LV32E: Package pin alignment

Genius 12760 points
Part Number: AM26LV32E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26LV31E

Customer has a request regarding footprint for a RS232 line driver/receiver.
They have a print in production using these driver/receiver

• AM26LV32E (Receiver)
• AM26LV31E (Driver)

Used package
• RGY Package, 16-Pin VQFN

The footprint is described in the datasheet as below

For the Altium design they used this library :
• Texas Instruments Interface RS-422

See according picture

The footprint pins library vs datasheet are shifted by one pin. What is right now?

Customer assumes that the datasheet is correct.

Can you please clarify?

Kind regards,
Bernd

  • Hello Bernd,

The datasheet is the correct one in this case. It is strange though because when I place that exact same part in Altium I get the correct pinout according to the datasheet where as the customer does not. Perhaps their library is not up to date?

    Best regards,
    Cristian Soltero
  • Hi Cristian,

customer downloaded the library (date 06/14/2012) from the Altium page designcontent.live.altium.com/ and contains the incorrect footprint.
Do you know if Altium takes care of updating this libraries?
Do we have a cooperation to support them with updates or is it their own responsibility?

    Regards,
    Bernd
  • Hi Bernd,

After looking at the library downloaded by the customer, it does appear to be that the library has the incorrect footprint for this part. It is not an update issue. If you could send me your email through a private message by hovering over my name, then what I can do is send you our internal library for now, while in the meantime I try to get the customer's library fixed.

    Regards,
