TPL7407L: What is actual maximum breakdown voltage of OUTn?

Part Number: TPL7407L
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ULN2003A

 Hello guys,

One of our customers is considering using TPL7407L or a competitor pin to pin device.

To choice either TPL7407L or a conpetitor device, they want to know actual maximum breakdown voltage of TPL7407L OUTn because they want to choise higher voltage device.

Guaranteed data is not needed. Just a reference data is enough.

Could you tell me any data?

 Your reply would be appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya Nakai.

  • Hi Mr, Nakai,

If you're looking for higher voltage devices, we have other options in our portfolio that might meet your voltage requirements.

We have two devices that I suggest taking a look at.  The ULN2003A can support output voltages up to 50V, while the SN7546x can support up to 100V.  Both devices have channels that can support up to 500mA. The channels can also be connected in parallel to achieve higher current capabilities.

If we could get some more customer information, I can also suggest other options. If you want more information about the TPL7404L, let me know.

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huang

  • Hi Arthur,
Thank you for your prompt reply. The customer knows TI has those devices but they want to reduce their control board consumption curent. So they choice TPL7407L because the device consuption current (Icc) when the ouputs are in on state is lower than ULN2003A and SN7546x. Also the competitor device ICC is lower than ULN and SN too since MOSFET is used for the competitor device outputs same as TPL7407L.
Could you tell me the actual maximum breakdown voltage of TPL7407L if you have the data?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Kazuya Nakai.
  • Hi Mr. Nakai,

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee proper operation of our device above our VOUT absolute max. For the TPL7407L, the maximum voltage range is from -0.3V to 42V. I would not recommend going any higher than that.

    Thanks,
    Arthur Huang
  • Hi Arthur,

I see. I understood you don't have any data about the maximum voltage of TPL7407 OUTn.
I will tell my customer that we don't have any data and to use OUTn within -0.3V to 42V.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Kazuya Nakai.
