SN65HVD3083E: About noise reduction of signal line

Part Number: SN65HVD3083E

Hi,

I made a board with the device of SN65HVD3083E and evaluated it.
However, due to the influence of noise on the signal line, I am considering adding the following contents to the circuit.

· Pull up A signal to 5 V with 10kΩ
· Pulldown B signal to GND with 10kΩ
· Pull up Z signal to 5 V with 10kΩ
· Pull down Y signal to GND with 10kΩ
* 5V is the VCC voltage.

I would like to ask about this content.
(1) Can the above contents reduce noise on the signal line?
(2) Does the above contents affect the device fail-safe function?

Best Regards,

  • Kaji,
Can you first check the supply of the device? Sometime the power self is noisy that can be coupled to the signal. Do you have termination on the bus? In general bus termination can reduce reflection and have better signal integrity. Adding pull up/pull down resistors on the bus would change the failsafe of system. You can refer to this design guide (www.ti.com/.../slla272c.pdf) for more details (termination on session 6 of page 3 and fail-safe on session 7 of page 4). Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Regards,
