Encoder: Hiperface interface -> 5V TTL

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00202

Dear All,

I'm facing following problem: In an automated assembly station (running 24/24 7/7 - automotive industry) we have a SEW planetary servo motor (part nb: PSF122 CMP40M/KY/AK0H/SM1) with a hiperface output. I need however a 5V TTL compatible (RS422) signal to feed that signal into a HBM measurement device ... .

I think the following design could solve this ... but I would like to buy a 'finished', industry-grade solution and not make my own.

thanks for the help!! Bart

  • Bart,

I guess most of the interface are custom made due to the fact that sin/cos signals can be processed quite differently due to the application requirement. I will forward your message to my colleagues who are more familiar with the solution.

  • Hello Bart,

Thank you for your interest in our TI design TIDA-00202 Interface to HIPERFACE position encoders.

From what I understand you looking to buy an industry grade product solution?

The TIDA-00202 TI design is meant as an evaluation platform to demonstrate the performance of our semiconductors, before our customers would build their own end equipment products using our ICs.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to sell this design as an evaluation module (EVM). However we provide Altium CAD files and Gerber files to allow our customers rebuild the board as is for further testing and performance evaluation,
or use it as reference to build their own schematics and PCB.

Would this still be an option for you?

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Martin
