TIC10024-Q1: TIC10024-Q1 comparators hysteresis

Part Number: TIC10024-Q1

Hi Team,

Do we specify hysteresis of TIC10024-Q1 internal comparators?

Piotr

  • Hello Piotr

There is hysteresis on the comparator, however because hysteresis requires you to remember the sampled voltage and the inputs are polled sequentially, you will never see it. So we do not have a hysteresis spec for the comparator to avoid confusion.

For example if I have 2.05 V on IN0, the comparator is going to measure this 2.05 V and compare it with the threshold for that input IN0 and record the high or low in the register settings.  As soon as I measure IN1 after measuring IN0, I have “lost” the voltage I just measured on IN0.  The high or low was recorded in the registers, but the precise voltage that was measured is gone because I moved channels to sample.  So when I eventually get back to sample IN0 I am doing an entirely new measurement and cannot have hysteresis.

    Regards,

    Andrew
