MAX3227E: Need MAX3227IDBR Land Pads Suggestion

Hi Sirs,

Would you pls advise the land pad suggestion of the MAX3227IDBR? We found application note SNOA293, while there is no 16 pin option in this document. Should we refer to SSOP Type II specification?

Hi Wayne,

The SSOP Type II should be the correct pad sizes even though there is not a 16 pin spec. The only major difference between the 20 pin and the 16 pin is the overall length of the package ( the A dimension in the datasheet schematic in your post). The SSOP Type II has some margin for error in it, therefore, if you need a more accurate pad size please let me know.

Thank you Daniel. Would you pls generate footprint data specified for 16 pin, MAX3227IDBR for ODM/OEM? Customer cannot apply internal P/N without accurate pad size data....Wayne Chen

Hi Wayne,

What format do you want this data in? Do you want a detailed technical drawing, do want a footprint in a cad software and if so what tool do you need it in(Altium, Cadence, etc...), or some other format?

Thank you Daniel, SNOA293's PDF format is good for customer. We need 16 pin SSOP type II specification to fit MAX3227IDBR's actual size...Wayne Chen

Hi Wayne,

So the app note SNOA293 SSOP type II applies to the 16 pin as well as the 20-24 pin devices. D, C, L, W, P, A, B, and X are all the same for the 16 pin. Is this app note not adequate for the customer? I am not understanding what is needed. All the measurements for the 16 pin would be identical to the 20 pin in the app note, and the mechanical drawing in the back of the datasheet has everything else relating to the 16 pin.
