Part Number: TUSB8041

Hi,Whom it may concern

I am sorry to make the same question, but can someone cope?
(Title. TUSB8041: BOS Descripter of HUB can not recognize)

When I connected the USB device to the hub using TUSB8041, i got a report that I could not recognize.
Below is the state of USB.

1. Connect USB3.0 hub using TUSB8041 to PC,
Of the "Device Descriptor" of the USB3.0 hub,
I can not recognize "BOS Descriptor".

2. If you connect the USB hub in two stages, the hub of the far side from the personal computer
I can see "BOS Description", but I can not recognize the device of the nearby hub.

3. When PC-HUB 1 is connected
BOS Descriptor of HUB 1: I can not recognize (invisible).

4. When PC-HUB1-HUB2 is connected
BOS Descripter of "HUB 1": I can not recognize (invisible)
BOS Descriptor of "HUB 2": Recognizable (visible)

Is not that the problem of TUSB8041, it is a problem of USB Driver?
Please tell me the solution.

It is not EVM. It is a board designed by the user.
The OS is Windows 7 / Linux (details unknown).

  • Hello Cafain,

Can you share the exact error that is being reported?  Both the USB 2.0 instance of the hub and the USB 3.0 instance of the hub should report the BOS descriptor of the hub.  Is either side reporting it?  Some of the older USB 2.0 drivers do not request the BOS descriptor, can you confirm that you are using updated USB 2.0 drivers?

    Thanks,

    JMMN
