TUSB211-Q1: How to use CD, ENA_HS, RSTN

Part Number: TUSB211-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB211

Hi All,

Please teach me how to use CD, ENA_HS, RSTN.

Simplified Schematic is connected to Programmable Logic Device.

How are you supposed to use CD and ENA_HS flags?

RSTN is enabled / disabled for the device.

But Irstn and Idisconn have the same current value.

Please teach me the intended use.

Best Regards

  • Hi,

RSTN can be used deactivate TUSB211 in case you don't want to boost the USB HS signals. Please see datasheet under Design requirements for details on the reset signal.

CD will be asserted when a USB device is attached (regardless if LS, FS or HS).

ENA_HS will be asserted when a USB HS signal is detected and the boost is turned on.

If CD or ENA_HS are not needed you can leave them floating.

  • Hi Cevin-san

If you do not want to boost the USB HS signal, what kind of case is assumed?

When assert signals of CD and ENA_HS are required, what kind of case is assumed?

  • Hi,

please review chapter 7.3 Device functional modes of the datasheet for additional explanation when which signal is asserted. Your application determines if you would like to use these signals/controls.

Usually RSTN will be connected with capacitor to GND to enable the device by power on, according to section 8.2.1 design requirements and chapter 9 power supply recommendations.
