Hi,

Our customer has some questions about TPS65982 /TPS65983. Can you help to check and give some comments?

1. As I know, TPS65982 and TPS65983 is pin to pin, so if we want to use TPS65982 instead of TPS65983, What’s the differences for the periphery circuit?

2. . Does the TPS65982 have different version? If so, how can we distinguish it?

3. Does different package version correspond to the different PD FW?

Hi Oliver,

1. There should be no periphery circuit differences unless you are designing a different system. Please note TPS65983B is intended for a Thunderbolt 3 device system following one of the Intel reference designs or to be used in a PD3.0 system.

2. No, there is only one TPS65982 version.

3. Both TPS65982 and TPS65983B share the same package, however, TPS65982 is PD2.0 and TPS65983B is PD3.0 silicon.
