TUSB4020BPHPEVM: EVM Configuration Switch not working as expected

Hi!

With the EVM configuration switch set as default, the SW1_1, SW1_7 and SW1_8 does not have any effect on the downstream power. Changing these three switchs (FULLPWRMGMTZ_SMBA1_SS, PWRCTL1_BATEN1 and PWRCTL2_BATEN2) to any state, results always in power on the downstream ports.

I can only control the power on downstream if I set the SMBUSz_SS_DN2 switch to ON, but in this case, SW1_7 and SW1_8 only works if I set SW1_1 to OFF (that it's the opposite from the datasheet and TUSB4020B EVM User Guide)

I'm totally lost on this one.

Is the reset being toggled when you are changing states on the TUSB4020BPHPEVM? States are latched at power-on so changing the switches without toggling reset will not change the TUSB4020BPHPEVM operation.

Hi Luis,

Is there any update based on Malik's response? SW1_1 will impact the USB descriptors reported, not the device operation. SW1_7 and SW1_8 will only noticeably impact the port power when the upstream port is disconnected.

Does power stay on the downstream port when the upstream port is disabled and SW 1_7 & SW 1_8 are disabled? Could you provide a photo of your switch settings on the TUSB4020BI EVM? Also could you provide more details about your application or end goal?
