Hi Johnsin,
Based on the USB BC1.2 specs, in order to be compliant a device must charge at 5V with a max current of 1.5A. However, some portable devices break this compliance and draw more than 1.5A of current. The TPS2546 recognizes this and is able to supply up to 2.4A of current. The three standard BC1.2 charging modes are dedicated charging port (DCP), standard downstream port (SDP), and charging downstream port (CDP). The divider 1, divider 2, and 1.2V divider mode are the non compliant charging modes that the TPS2546 is able to support.
