Hi Vladimir ,

CD40109B is another consideration for high to low level shifting . The CD4K family works up to 18V under normal operating conditions.

Please, explain. The CD40109B named as "low-to-high" level shifter in the datasheet. I need "high-to low" level shifter - from 8V to 5V. I have 8V and 5V power supplies.

If I feed Vcc=8V and Vdd=5V, then I can use CD40109B as "high-to low" level shifter? Or I can simply feed Vcc=Vdd= 5V ?

CD4050 is not recommended for new design?

Vladamir ,

CD4050B is active and will not be EOL unless there is no demand according to TI EOL policy .

with Vcc>Vdd it can operate as high to low level shifter .
