TXS0102 SMBus communicate question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0102

Hi team,

We got two issue on TXS0102 application. Schematic (pic1) and waveform attached, please help to give some suggestion, thanks.

1. There are a voltage surge on both CLK/DAT when communicate(pic2). We remove TXS0102, and the surge disappear(pic3). How to solve this surge?

2. The input Vlow level is 0, but output Vlow is not 0. How to solve this?

Thanks

  • Hello Daniel,

It looks like the one-shot circuitry of the TXS0102 is causing that spike. This can happen with a slow rising edge or a highly capacitive line (>70 pf). One way to verify that this is being caused by the one-shot would be to zoom in on the scope and measure the duration of the spike. The duration of the spike should be around 30ns. If the issues is being caused by the one-shot the best solution would be to minimize the trace capacitance to ensure it is within the 70pf limit. As for the Vol, it looks to be around 0.2V which is within the datasheet max Vol of 0.4V (page 6 of the datasheet).
