SN74LVCH16T245: Unused pin connection

Part Number: SN74LVCH16T245

Dear Team,

I have grounded unused inputs of SN74LVCH16T245, Is it ok right?

Regards,

Prasanna

  • Hi Prasanna,

Since each channel of the SN74LVCH16T245 can change direction, I would usually recommend grounding all unused inputs and outputs through large resistors (10kΩ or larger). The resistors will limit current in the event that an output doesn't drive all the way to ground, and will keep all unused inputs from floating.

If you have configured the device as unidirectional (ie if the DIR pins are permanently set high or low), then you can directly connect the inputs to ground and leave the outputs floating.
