SN74LVC8T245: Vccb connection

Part Number: SN74LVC8T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVCC3245A

Dear Technical Support Team,

I'd like replace SN74LVC8T245 instead of TC74LVXC3245FS.

23pin of TC74LVXC3245FS is NC, but 23pin  of SN74LVC8T245  is VCCB.

Is it possible to open 23pin of  SN74LVC8T245?

Is SN74LVCC3245A more better to replace ?

Best Regards,

ttd

  • ttd ,

I used the cross reference tool to compare the Toshiba part and the LVCC3245A is the direct replacement for it.
i went ahead and compared the datasheets and the Vcca /vccb which are very similar to TI equivalent(TI is slightly better).
The LVC8T245 also works since the Vcca and Vccb works over the entire 1.65 to 5.5V range and has better drive. The NC pin can be left floating if the schematic and layout is done that way since there will be internal short between 1 &2 pins.
  • Hi Shreyas,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I'd confirm your comment.

    >The NC pin can be left floating if the schematic and layout is done that way since there will be internal short between 1 &2 pins.
⇒23 & 24 of LVC8T245 pins are VCCB . Is it correct that both pins are internal short?

  • ttd ,

The vccb pins are shorted on the die and should be ok to leave 23 floating.
