SN74ALVC164245: Translate from 2.5V to 5V logic

Hi All

Is it possible to use SN74ALVC164245 to translate 2.5V logic to 5V logic level?

In the datasheet nothing mentioned about the capability of level shifting from 2.5V to 5V. It said 2.5V to 3.3V and 3.3V to 5V.

Hi Aiden,
I have asked our translation expert to take a look at this. From the datasheet, I think 2.5 to 5V is too large of a gap, but there's a chance that it works and it's just not documented well.

Aidin ,

The ALVC164245 is definitely capable to do voltage translation between 2.5 to 5V. If you can also consider sn74LVC16T245 , they are the popular devices (may be cheaper too depending on the package) which handles the required voltages without any restrictions on the Vcca/Vccb power supplies.

Hi,

I found SN74LVCH16T245 very satisfying. I will use it in my design.

But I just found IBIS model for it. Is there any spice model available to simulate translation behavior?

Good to have your feedback on the selection done.
regarding the IBIS / Spice model, if the model is not available in the tools tab of the product folder, then the model is not available, unfortunately.
