SN74AVC4T774: Use as buffer or translator

Hi,

In one of my application, I want to use the translator SN74AVC4T774PWR as Buffer(1.8V to 1.8V) or translator (1.8V to 3.3V). This is used with Arria 10 FPGA JTAG interface.

Can it be used in the buffer mode, 1.8V to 1.8V? Will there be any issue with this?

I also want to use the same translator for uSD interface with translation from 1.8V to 3.3V.

Please let me know whether it supports the same.

Hi Nanjunda,
No, three will not be any issue with using the device as a 1.8V buffer.

Hi Emrys,

In that case (as 1.8V buffer) what will be the data rate supported?

Does this support 100Mhz signal as my JTAG clock signal runs at this speed?

The datasheet mentions a typical data rate of 200 Mbps for 1.8 V.

Are your signals 100 MHz (= 200 Mbps) or 100 Mbps (= 50 Mhz)?

Hi Clemens,

In the datasheet I did not find, where it is specifying the datarate for 1.8V to 1.8V conversion.

I'm using a clock signal of 100MHz in my application.

Hi Nanjunda,
Typical data rates are listed on the front page of the datasheet. This device won't have any problems with a 100 MHz clock at 1.8V.
