SN74LVC8T245: Failure modes

Part Number: SN74LVC8T245

We have a design that uses the SN74LVC8T245 that we are developing an acceptance test for.  It may not be possible to drive the SN74LVC8T245 at its maximum frequency required by the design during the acceptance test.  The design will require that the SN74LVC8T245 be driven at 5 MHz occasionally but we may only be able to exercise it at ~ 10K during the test.  Is there a failure mode of this chip that would allow it to be toggled at 10K but not 5MHz?  If so is there a minimum frequency that we could test with that would ensure operation at 5MHz?  We are using the part as a 3.3V to 5V translator, and assume that normal operation means we will provide an acceptable input signal at whatever frequency is to be considered.

thanks,

Jason
