TXS02612: About package size

Part Number: TXS02612

Hi,

Could you tell me the package size of TX02612 ?
There are two types of description in the data sheet.

Which expression is correct?
Customers need that information for CAD design.

  • Hello Yusuke-san,
Boards should be designed assuming the device is 4.00mm x 4.00mm with a possible variance of up to +/- 0.15mm.

I will have to research to find out why there are two drawings in the datasheet - it's likely an error due to a system update.
  • Maier-san,

Thank you for your kind support.
I will report your information to customers.
Please contact me again once you have some updates.

  • Maier-san,

Let me ask you one more thing.
There is no thermal pad size information on the page where +/- 0.15mm is stated.
However, thermal pad information exists on the page where +/- 0.1 is stated.
    Can I believe this(2.45× +/-2.45mm) information?
Could you tell me the thermal pad size.

  • Hi Yusuke-san,
Yes, this is an accurate representation of the part. All footprints should be based on the nominal value (2.45mm)

Note that the nominal value is the same in both drawings, but the tolerance is slightly different in the blue drawing. I am still trying to find out which is more accurate, but for any board design, the blue drawing is sufficient.
  • Hi Yusuke-san,
I was able to get an answer as to why the drawings are different.

The package drawing in blue is one from our supplier for the packages, and lists a tighter tolerance for the package specifications than what TI requires overall.

The black drawing is the "official TI" drawing that all our packages must meet to be released. The thermal pad is 2.45 x 2.45mm centered on the device with a tolerance of +/- 0.15mm.

Again, we recommend designing the footprint to the nominal values, so either drawing is fine for PCB design.
  • Maier-san,

I really appreciate your sincere response for my request.
I will report your information to customers.
