TXB0104: relation of VCCA and VCCB

Part Number: TXB0104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0206A

Hi

I have a question about the following condition.

    (2) VCCA must be less than or equal to VCCB and must not exceed 3.6 V

Is this meant to keep VCCA<VCCB condition even if it is no communication?

(In case of power down, VCCA voltage might be bigger than VCCB because of capacitor on the VCCA and VCCB pin. )

And I would like to ask related above question.

Regarding of TXS0206A which is a series device of TXB0104, does TXS0206A has same limitation for the relation of VCCA and VCCB?

(There are no explanation about this kind of limitation at the datasheet.)

  • Hi Koji,

Yes, TXB0104 requires Vcca to be less than Vccb under normal operating conditions.
While during power up and power down, the violation is tolerated since it is not going to be for an indefinite time period. There are positive diodes from Vccb to Vcca which could turn on when Vcca is > than Vccb.

TXS0206A doesnt have this restriction if it is not listed on the datasheet.
  • Hi Shreyas,

Thank you for your support as always.
    I understood.
