TXS0102: questions

Part Number: TXS0102

Team,

Two questions would like to ask as TXS0102 is used for MDIO interface. Processor is 3.3V, and PHY is 1.8V.

1. Datasheet mentioned Vcca need smaller or equal to Vccb. And look at typical block diagram in datasheet page 1, it shows processor on the A side, peripheral on the B side. So it doesn't matter we put processor on the B side, peripheral on the A side as long as Vcca<=Vccb, correct? I think it's good cause it's bidirectional.

2. Could you please explain why the "one shot" connection between these two block diagrams are different in datasheet p14 and p15?

  • Hi Allan,

    1) Correct, the Vcca must be less than or equal to Vccb is the only condition while the device is being used in the system.
    2) The second figure is right, which shows the internal architecture of the IO cell while the fig 1 shows a high level block diagram view. The fig 1 needs to be updated to show the correct interconnection.
