ISO7240C: Different input and output voltage

Part Number: ISO7240C

Hi all,

In ISO7240C datasheet, it's mentioned that I can use different input and output voltage, say 3.3V for input and 5V for output. So does this mean that I can use this isolator as level shifter IC as well? I mean if I put a PWM as the input at 3.3V VCC, do I get the PWM signal at 5V at the output?

Thanks,

--Kash

  • Hi Kash,

Yes, you can use digital Isolator as an level shifter.
Just ensure that VCC1, VCC2 and I/O supply voltage are within the recommended operating specification mentioned in the datasheet.

    Tejas,
Thanks for your confirmation. I'm going to connect the PWM signal from TMS320F28069 (3.3V) to a motor drive which needs 5V PWM.
