  • TI Thinks Resolved

ISO7220M: ISO7220M

Part Number: ISO7220M

Can this device replace the opto typically used in the isolated power supplies? If so, can someone provide a sketch of how this will be done?

thx

  • Hi Bob,

If you are referring to the Opto-Coupler in the feedback network that is operating in linear region transmitting analog information then ISO7220 doesn't support this application. The ISO7xxx isolators are meant for digital data transmission and they do not support analog signal transmission by themselves. I hope that answers your questions, thanks.

This was advertised by an TI application Engineer visiting and educating us a few days ago.

    Hi Bob,

Thanks for your feedback, for privacy reasons I have got the contact information removed of the person you are referring to from your post. Please feel free to reach out to the person directly for any questions related to the discussion you both have had in the past.

If you have any other questions related to digital isolators, please feel free to post them on E2E's digital isolator forum. Thank you.
