ISO1212: Question of VIL and VIH Specifications of ISO1212 Datasheet
Part Number: ISO1212
There is a forum thread that has been answered that I don't understand.
The answer was "As shown in table 2, the device is inverting", but I don't think the device inverts. None of the functional block diagrams in the ISO1212 datasheet show an inversion, and Table 2 does not show an inversion either. Here is Table 2 from the same datasheet (the latest) referenced in the original thread:
I think the original poster is correct in questioning the specs for "Voltage Transition Threshold on Field Side". Would someone please check this and explain it to me if it is inverted?
Thanks and regards,
The device doesn't invert. I do agree that the verbage in the "Voltage Transition Threshold on Field Side" electrical characteristics could probably be worded better. I'll bring this up to the relevant engineer and see what the logic was for this wording.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.

In reply to Lucas Schulte9:
Thank you for confirming it doesn't invert. Were you able to contact the relevant engineer to find out what the logic was for the wording in the datasheet?
Thank you and regards,
In reply to Greg:
Yes we got to the bottom of it. Turns out it was a typo and the definitions for VIH and VIL need to be swapped. The datasheet will be updated in the next 12 to 36 hours.
Thanks for getting to the bottom of it. I was pretty sure I was understanding it, but datasheets are kind of like gospel, and so I wanted to make sure.
