Use of digital isolator with two grounds shorted

I came across a design where the two grounds of isolator are connected with 0 Ohm resistance. I am just thinking why it is done so? and what is its use?

  • Hey Rohit,

    Just to follow-up here. Typically, we see high value resistors or high-voltage stitching capacitors (called Y-caps) to reduce common mode emissions across the ground domains. This is also done during debug stages to bypass the isolation barrier but to test the signal IO paths for example, or sometimes as a placeholder for future population of this board component.
