What do digital isolator part numbers mean?
TI offers a broad portfolio of digital isolator products from different families, with different channel counts, channel configurations, and packages. To simplify this, product information is indicated in the naming convention. For example, consider the device ISO7741FDWR:
ISO77 – Product family. The ISO77xx is TI’s largest family of digital isolators. Other digital isolator families include the ISO78xx, ISO73xx, ISO72xx.
4 – Total channel count. This part number has 4 total channels.
1 – Number of reverse channels. This device in particular has 3 forward channel and 1 reverse channel.
F – Default output mode. No “F” indicates the device has a default output HIGH, and part numbers with the “F” suffix have a default output LOW.
DW – Package Identifier. “DW” signifies TI’s Wide Body 16 pin SOIC package, featuring >8mm creepage. Other Package identifiers for digital isolators include DBQ, D, DWV, DWW.
R – Package carrier. “R” indicates that’s this product is be shipped in a tape and reel. No “R” indicates it is shipped in smaller quantities via tube.
