WEBENCH® Tools/ISO1050: ISO1050 VS ISO1042

Part Number: ISO1050
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1042,

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

hello

I would like to ask if there is any difference in CAN communication between ISO1050 and ISO1042.

If I am using ISO1050, is it recommended to replace it with ISO1042?

  • Hello,
Yes it is recommended to replace ISO1050 with ISO1042 for new designs. Both devices meet the requirements of ISO11898-2 physical layer standards. The ISO1042 supports higher data rates including CAN FD support and has other great benefits such as higher working voltage, higher bus fault protection and higher immunity.
Please let me know if you have any further question.
    Best regards,
    Dan
