WEBENCH® Tools/ISO1050: ISO1050 VS ISO1042

Part Number: ISO1050
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1042,

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

hello

May I ask the difference between ISO1050 and ISO1042 in CAN communication.

My circuit design uses ISO1050. Is it recommended to replace it with ISO1042?

  • Hi Dear user,

Yes, it is recommended to replace it with the ISO1042.

It is a newer part and has several improvements , but also compatible with each other from a CAN communication point of view.

Some of the improvements in the ISO1042 are : higher bus fault protection [70V ], faster speeds [upto 5Mbps CAN FD], higher isolation voltage ratings [5000 Vrms] , higher temperature rating [125C] etc.

You can see more details in the datasheet and also in the product comparison links below:

It also gives good protection for ESD:

    Hope this helps!
    Thanks,
