ISO722: ISO 10605

Part Number: ISO722
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7710

Hi E2E,

Our customer want to use ISO722 to pass ISO10605.

(IN:3.3V, OUT:5V)

If it's not suitable, What TI part can support it possibly?

Thanks!

  • Hi Julian,

Thank you for showing interest in TI digital isolators.
Please note that ISO722 is one of our older digital isolators released back in 2006, we have released many devices after ISO722 with significant improvement in performance. ISO77xx is our latest family of digital isolators that provides reinforced isolation with 5kVrms of isolation withstand voltage and best EMI performance including ESD.

We do not test our devices for ISO 10605 directly instead we test for IEC 61000-4-2 from which ISO10605 is derived. ISO77xx family of devices are tested for 8kV of IEC 61000-4-2 ESD contact and while testing on an end product, the ESD stress is typically not applied directly on digital isolator pins hence the actual ESD performance that you achieve on a product will be much higher than what the isolator can support.

ISO77xx family is available in various channel configurations and package options, please let us know how many channels would you need so that I can suggest the suitable device. If your requirement is only one channel then ISO7710 should be the device. For more details about device please check ISO7710 datasheet. Thanks.
