Hi team,

My customer requires the CAN device can pass the reinforce insulation certification by UL / IEC. ISO1050DW meets the CQC reinforce insulation, but that doesn't work with customer. I learned ISO1050DW just meets the basic insulation from TI's material. Can you help me to confirm it? Thanks a lot.

Hi Lenna,

Please provide the exact standard names that the customer need to comply with.

ISO1050DW has basic and reinforced certifications based on the specific standards and use conditions.

Like Saleem mentioned, please do let us know which UL and IEC standard is customer referring to? Please provide full standard name so that we can confirm if ISO1050DW meets reinforced insulation requirement. Thanks.

Hi Saleem and Koteshwar,

Could you confirm whether ISO1050 DWR can stand 1.2/50us 8000V pulse? I see it 5000Vrms in datasheet. Or is there any other recommend? customer prefers a 8000Vrms device.

ISO1050DWR can withstand 1.2/50us surge pulse of 4000 Vpk.

We recommend to consider newly-released ISO1042 CAN transceiver which can withstand surge pulse of 10000 Vpk.
