SN6501: 5.7kVrms transformer recommendation

Hi Team,

My customer is interested in using the SN6501 along with the ISO7842 to achieve a configuration similar to Figure 18 in the ISO7842 datasheet (Isolated RS-232 Interface).

With this, the customer has been unable to find a 1:~2.1 transformer that has 5.7kVrms, only up to 5kVrms. Do we have any 5.7kVrms isolated transformer recommendations to match the ISO78xx devices?

Hi John,

Our SN6501 expert is out of the office right now but will be returning on Monday. I know he has done some effort into finding additional transformers that work well with the SN6501. Is it alright if he gets back to you by the end of the day Monday?

Hi John!

We currently do not have any 5.7kV or greater isolation rated transformer recommendations on the SN6501 datasheet, but please allow me 3 days to investigate. I will post a follow up, but feel free to post additional comments or questions in the meantime!

At this moment we do not know of any 5.7kVrms transformers in production to recommend with the SN6501, but depending on our customer's timeline a transformer vendor may be able to design one. I will email you with next steps we can take here.
