ISO7763-Q1: Any plans to provide an ultra low power version like the ISO7041?

Part Number: ISO7763-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7041, ISO7763

Dear TI product management,

we would be very interested in an ultra low power digital isolator like the new ISO7041, but with the following specifications:

- Providing a continuous working voltage DC isolation of at least 1500Vdc over 20 years

- Supporting 5.0V supplied components (not only 3.3V)

- 6 channels instead of only 4 (directions: 6/3)

- Automotive AEC-Q100 qualified and temperature range of -40 to +125°C at least

Is there any plan to provide such a device, at least fulfilling the wishes in position 1 and 2? Any information would greatly help our design considerations and decisions.

Best regards

Vincent

  • Hi Vincent,

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will take this information and give it to our system designers to help them define better parts in the future. As a general policy, we do not discuss unreleased part’s schedules on the public forum - so I cannot give you a date for when a part like this would be available.

For our better understanding - can you give some insight into why you need these requirements? The six channels makes a lot of sense to me - but for low power I would expect you would want even lower Vcc voltages - not higher like 5v. What is the application?

It does seem like ISO7763 is the closest part to what you are looking for now - but I imagine it is too power hungry for your application. What is your power budget?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Dan
