ISO1176T: About RMS Supply Current vs Signaling Rate graph data

Part Number: ISO1176T

Hi,

Let me ask you a question about Fig1 and Fig2 in data sheet page10.

1.Could you tell me the measurement conditions and measurement circuit of Fig2?
Do you use the following test circuit?

2.Could you tell me the measurement conditions and measurement circuit of Fig1?
I expect to measure with the bus side open.
If so, how do you measure current?

Customers need that information for detailed current consumption calculations.

Best Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke-san,

    Please find below my inputs.

    1. Yes, the test circuit that you have shared from Figure 10 of datasheet is the circuit used to measure current consumption with load to obtain Figure 2 plot.
    2. The same test circuit with load RL removed is used to measure current consumption without load obtaining the plot in Figure 1.
      1. Please note that the currents measured are ICC1 & ICC2 and not the bus current. The current drawn from supplies VCC1 & VCC2 by device are monitored using current meters which indicates the total current consumed by device. This current vs datarate is plotted in Figure 1 & Figure 2. Hence the way current is measured doesn't change whether load is connected or not.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks.
