Hi team,
I'm not sure if the power failure of some nodes of CAN bus will affect the normal operation of the bus.Could you confirm it for me?
Best Regards,
Amy Luo

Amy,
Are all of the CAN devices on the bus the ISO1050?
Respectfully,
Lucas
Hi Amy,
If some of the nodes on the network randomly power down they should not prevent communication on the bus. See the table below I took from the ISO1050 datasheet (page 19):
If Vcc1 powers down randomly the device will go into fail-safe mode and the bus will go recessive (thus letting the other nodes on the network communicate).
If Vcc2 powers down randomly the bus will go to a high impedance state which will also allow the other nodes on the network continue to communicate.
Note that if either one of these undervoltage events is triggered, the device that went into undervoltage will take some additional delay to return to normal mode (typically 300us).
Does this clear it up for you?
Best regards,
Dan
