TPS40200-EP: wafer technology

Part Number: TPS40200-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC1825A-SP, UC1843-SP

Hello,

I would like to know if SOI technology (Silicon On insulator) is used to build this part.

Before to select this part for a space application, I would like to have more information about its technology.

Thank you !!!

  • Hi Francois,

TPS40200-EP is enhanced version of commercial part. I.e. TPS40200-EP is characterized over wider temp range -55C to 125C as opposed to the commercial part ( -40C to 125C).

You should look for xxx-SP parts i.e. UC1825A-SP , UC1843-SP etc. these parts are targeted for space application - thus process is changed to handle to meet various radiation tolerant specifications. UC devices are bipolar process.

Will investigate and get back to you on the TPS40200-EP process - as to what information can be shared without an NDA.
  • Hello Francois,

It looks like we won't be able to share the technology process information. We strongly discourage the use of EP devices for space applications and instead recommend the -SP parts as Ramesh mentioned above.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
