Connection of ADS1293

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1293

Hello,

For the DAP pin in ADS1293 (i.e. pin29 in the center of the chip), the datasheet says no connection is needed. However, in the schematic of the wireless heart monitor with Bluetooth low energy, the DAP is actually connected to ground via a 0-ohm resistor. May I know why this connection is necessary here and whether I can remove this resistor?

Thank you and looking forward to your reply!

Best Regards,

Aries

  • Hi Aries,

You can remove the 0 ohm resistor. The DAP connection to ground is not strictly required because the chip has dedicated ground pins, but it does not hurt to connect it to ground.

If you wish to connect the DAP to ground and you have split ground planes in your board, make sure to connect the DAP to the analog ground (VSS) and not to the IO ground (VSSIO).

    Regards,

    Sergio
