Efficient design of CD4052B

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD4052B

Hi,

We want to know details about CD4052B to use it efficiently. (appropriate power supply, input and efficient output)

We found a data book of signal switch (scdd003a.pdf) in which details of CD40XX was described but CD4052B was not.

Where is a data book including the information of CD4052B?

regards

  • I'm afraid there isn't an application report or data book on the CD4052B. When you say 'use it efficiently' -- what exactly do you mean? Are you trying to minimize power consumption? Channel resistance? Or are you just looking for the appropriate voltages that the part can handle?
  • Hi Emrys,

Thank you for your comment and I'm sorry my reply is late.

We want to know appropriate voltages especially under conditions that :

    Xch_IN(Pin12) : 2.5Vrms (20KHz to 96KHz), Output Impedance = 10Ohm to a few KOhm @ Source signal
    Xch_OUT(Pin13): Output Load 1uF

    Ych_IN(Pin1) : 2.5Vrms (20KHz to 96KHz), Output Impedance = 10Ohm to a few KOhm @ Source signal
    Ych_OUT(Pin3) : Output Load 1uF

INH(Pin6) and VEE(Pin7) and VSS(Pin8) are connected to GND

We want to use CD4052B bringing out its performance but we don't have any know-how.
We were looking for the some reference designs and detailed parameter measurement information on datasheet, but we couldn't.

Do you have a solution ?
  • Hi , I could find http://www.ti.com/lit/an/scha004/scha004.pdf app note which may be helpful for you .

The input condition given is within the supported bandwidth for this device . However , 2.5V input would be below Vih level for the device at 5V Vdd ,so need to lower your Vdd level .Note that the input going below -0.5V can damage the device if drawing excessive ground (ESD)diode current . The app note in the datasheet of CD4052B and the detailed description should be very helpful too .

The VEE ,VSS and INH can be connected to gnd .
