SN74ALVC32 propagation delay over temperature

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74ALVC32

Can TI provide a graph or additional data for propagation delay vs operating temperature for the SN74ALVC32 or any similar device/logic family? This information is not in the datasheet.

  • Hi Tom ,

I was unable to find the device characterization data for this device but I will ask for other possible locations it might exist and get back to you .

  • Shreyas,

We may not have the characterization data available, however, I think the information can be deduced from the datasheet by looking at the MIN/MAX data for the various Vcc scenarios.  This info would have been derived from the characterization, so what I see for tpd is a MIN of 1nsec, a MAX of 4.7nsec (at 1.8v).  While TYP values are for operation at 25C, the device specs are guaranteed over the operating temp range, defined in the datasheet as > The SN74ALVC32 is characterized for operation from 40°C to 85°C.

This App Note gives an overview of the factors affecting tpd, and seems to emphasize the loading capacitance as having more affect than other parameters, see Table 5 for a summary: www.ti.com/lit/an/scaa029/scaa029.pdf .

  • Thanks for the info Leonard . This definitely offer general guidelines on the propagation delay behavior for devices .

I am still waiting on the char data to be scanned and sent over to me .

  • Hi Leonard ,

    ALVC char data attached here.
