Usually the max frequency parameter is not mentioned in the datasheets but by comparing a clocked device in the same device family done out of the same process , we get the estimate of the data rate capability of the device .

Can you tell me a little bit on how to compare them to get the max frequency? I need to know each of them frequency rate. Both of their datasheet do not list this information. I don't think those tpd, tr, and tf can be used to infer the frequency rate. You mentioned to use "compare", I am even lost further by your two replies.

As you suggested, when I referred to two clocked devices: SN74LVC1G74, and SN74LVC1G79, I saw two frequency clock rates with huge difference, one is max 90MHz@3.3V, one is max 260@3.3V. In this case, which one you suggest me to use for SN74LVC1G17 Max Frequency capability esstimate?
