SN74LVC2G07 application note (SCEA035A )

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC2G07

Hi Sir,

Sorry to bother you.

I've use sn74lvc2g07. We need confirm some thing.

For now our Vcc is 3.3v, Rpu is 4.7K, but at application note (SCEA035A) page 9.10.

RPU(min) = (VPU-VOL) /IOL(max). Looks 4.7k is too large.

Do we need change resistor value or could you help provide your suggestion?

Thanks for your reply.

  • Hi Shu ,

The pullup resistor required is dependent on your receiver's input signal rate . Larger resistor would lead to time constant being larger . The switching time for full rail to rail output would be limited by the larger resistor .
If speed of operation is not of concern and you would conserve on the power , then higher R values are suitable .
  • RPU(min) is the minimum value for the pull-up resistor. This means that in your case, the resistor must be larger than about 712 Ω. Your 4.7 kΩ is perfectly fine.

As long as your value is above 712 Ω, you can choose any value; lower values result in faster switching times, but larger current (= power consumption), while higher values result in slower switching times but less current.

How fast do your edges need to be? How much power usage can you afford?
