Purpose : replace the 74LVC2G34GW,125
What is the typical value of ICC?
The competition 74LVC consumes 4uA
Do you have more data around this parameter (graph, typ, …)?
Only a max value of 10uA is given which is too high.
Would you maybe recommend another part if ICC won’t be acceptable?

Hello Bernd,

The typical value is generally going to be ~1uA or less. Across temperature it may be slightly higher.

The only specification that we guarantee is the 10uA, however, I could take some bench data in order to help give confidence that the ICC is much lower than 10uA.

this sounds good.

I´m aware about datasheet specifications and what we guarantee so some bench data to give the customer confidence to be closer at 1uA than 10uA would be great. Let me know your findings.

Hey Bernd,

I tested this in the lab at room temperature and found that ICC didn't exceed 100nA.
However, I should have just recommended another part earlier that has a much lower ICC value if you are using 3.6V VCC or below.
The SN74AUP2G34 is the lowest power consumption logic device we have available for this function, so you may want to recommend this device instead as a better spec with a guarantee.

thank you very much for your efforts.
I`m aware of SN74AUP2G34 but battery voltage is up to 3.6V means there is no margin left.

Hello Bernd,

The reason it is specified to 3.6V is because its +- 10% from 3.3V. The devices absolute maximum is not 3.6V, but rather 4.6, so there is definitely some margin there and the device will not break. I guess by the most technical standards we don't guarantee all device specifications beyond 3.6V, but at 3.7V, the device is honestly still going to operate without issue. If the maximum battery voltage is 3.6V, then it will be fine to operate with the SN74AUP2G34. I guess since its beyond the recommended maximum if

Yes, would be good to check. As i mentioned, we don't guarantee device operation beyond recommended, but if it max is 3.6V, then it is guaranteed, as it is within operating conditions.
