SN74LV123A: SN74LV123A power-up ramp rate

Part Number: SN74LV123A

Hello Team,

There is power-up ramp rate spec in our datasheet below, but there is only MIN spec. I think it should be MAX spec, what's your opinion? Why do we define this spec, if customer's application can't meet this spec, what's the impact? Thanks

Regards,

Nanfang

  • Hi Nanfang,
The ramp rate spec is correct. The device requires a slow power ramp to maintain a stable internal reference value.

If the input is ramped too fast, it can cause false triggers/outputs. If this isn't a problem for the customer, then it won't hurt our device. I would recommend just not using the device for the first ~5ms after it is powered on to ensure the reference has stabilized.
