CD54HCT04: suggest P2P solution to replace MM74HCT05MX

Part Number: CD54HCT04
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74HC05, SN54HC05, SN74AHC05, CD74ACT05

Hi Team,

Please suggest if TI have P2P solution to replace MM74HCT05MX.

I cannot find on ti.com.

Thank you.

  • Tiffany,
There are 3 potential candidates that might meet your needs based on temp range needed and package type.
There may be slight differences in input thresholds and speeds that likely would not impact your application, but would need to be verified.
The input thresholds specified for your device are TTL levels where these replacement devices are specified with CMOS levels. This would mean that they would be guaranteed to switch with tighter limits. For example the VIH/VIL level for your reference device is 2.0 and 0.8V.
    The SN74HC05 has VIH/VIL levels of 3.15 and 1.35V.
    Here are the candidate devices.
    SN54HC05, SN74HC05, and SN74AHC05.

    Regards,
    Wade
  • CD74ACT05 also matches the TTL input levels.
(But AC has much stronger outputs than HC, so it requires good decoupling to reduce switching noise.)
