LM567C: Why the time-Delay of output is over 300us

Part Number: LM567C

Hi,

I'm using LM567C as a Tone Decoder in an application. Below is the schematic, the center frequency is set to 100KHz,Bandwidth is 14% .The input is sinusoidal signal (700mV 100KHz  .

The time-delay of output is about 20us-100us most of the time but it is more than 300us sometimes. Could you tell me why?

  • I am not very familiar with this device i will try to assist here. See Figure 9 in the datasheet: the top curve indicates that for 14% bandwidth, there may be ~30 cycles before the output. 30 periods of a 100kHz clock is 300us. If we follow the bottom curve (limited by external resistor), we get ~10 cycles, or 100us.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
